Pilot Tiaan Fourie

My name is Tiaan, I’m 26 years old. I grew up close to OR Tambo airport and seeing the machines pass over on a daily basis convinced me to become a pilot. There’s absolutely nothing else I would rather do.

I started my Private Licence in 2008. Had some challenges along the way including a burst eardrum and operations to repair that, but I never gave up on my dream.

I fly the Cessna 172 and Sling 2 and have about 126 hours combined.

I decided to join the Flight for the Children Initiative, because people need inspiration. Especially children. You have to have a dream, something to work towards. And I hope taking a couple of children up in an aircraft for their first time will show them there is more to life than what they think they know and inspire them to follow their dreams.
